1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using our educational card game platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.
For Users Under 18: If you are under 18 years old, your parent or guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Description of Service
Match2.Cards is an educational platform that provides interactive card-matching games designed to help students build vocabulary and visual recognition by pairing colour-coded icons with their written words. Our Service includes:
- Interactive matching games with a learn-first stage followed by matching from memory
- Themed icon categories (such as sea life, food, animals and transport) and teacher-created custom collections
- Spoken word audio and on-screen text in 16 languages
- Progress tracking and performance analytics
- Tools for teachers and parents to monitor student progress, including an AI teaching assistant
Paid plans may also include access to other learning platforms we operate, using the same student sign-in code. Your use of any such platform is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.
3. User Accounts and Eligibility
3.1 Account Registration
- Students under 13: Sign-in codes must be created by a parent, guardian, or teacher
- Students 13-17: May use sign-in codes with parental consent
- Adults: May create accounts for personal use or to manage student sign-in codes
- Guests: The free game can be played with no account and no sign-in at all
3.2 Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You must provide accurate and complete information during registration
- Teachers and parents are responsible for the student sign-in codes and share links they create or distribute
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

5. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data
- Upload, transmit, or distribute any harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content, including in custom collections
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers

- Scrape, bulk-download, or redistribute our icon artwork, audio, or other content
- Use the Service in any way that could harm minors
6. Privacy and Student Data Protection
6.1 Privacy Commitment
We are committed to protecting the privacy of all users, especially students. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at match2.cards/privacy.
Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your data. Key points include:
- Students use anonymous share codes and provide no personal information
- Teachers and parents provide only name and email address
- We never sell personal information
- Data is encrypted and securely stored
6.2 Student Data
- We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide educational services
- Student data will not be used for commercial purposes unrelated to education
- We implement appropriate security measures to protect student information
- Parents and eligible students have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Our Content
All content, features, and functionality of Match2.Cards, including but not limited to icon artwork, word lists, audio recordings, text, graphics, logos, software, and game mechanics, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
7.2 Permitted Use
Teachers, parents and students may use our content within the Service, and in printed or projected materials for their own classroom or family, for non-commercial educational purposes. You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute our content as a standalone asset library.
7.3 User Content
- You retain ownership of any original content you create using our Service, such as custom collections and word lists

- You represent that you have the right to grant this licence
8. Payment Terms and Refunds
8.1 Plans and Payments
Match2.Cards offers a permanent free plan (no time limit, no card required) alongside our paid plans:
- Payments are processed through our payment processor (Paddle), acting as Merchant of Record
- Match2@Home is a one-time purchase per child — there is no subscription and nothing to renew
- Teacher and school plans are annual subscriptions charged per student seat, and automatically renew unless cancelled. The first 5 student seats are free.
- The free plan is permanent; there is no time-limited free trial
- Prices are shown in US dollars unless stated otherwise, and applicable taxes are calculated at checkout by Paddle
8.2 Educational Discounts
We may offer special pricing for educational institutions and volume purchases.
8.3 Refund Policy
We want you to be happy with Match2.Cards. The same 30-day money-back promise applies to every paid plan, and our teacher and school plans are billed annually.
30-day money-back guarantee (all plans)
- Ask us for a refund within 30 days of your purchase and we will refund you in full, no reason required. Cancelling your plan is a separate action and does not by itself request a refund.
- This applies to the Teacher and School plans and to the Match2@Home purchase.
- You can also try the platform first on our permanent free plan — no card required — before you buy.
After 30 days — Teacher & School (annual) plans
- After the 30-day window these plans are non-refundable. You keep full access until the end of the year you have paid for.
- You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next year's renewal — it does not end your current year and does not return money.
- At the end of a cancelled year your account returns to the free plan. Your groups, pupils, sign-in codes and progress are kept, never deleted.
After 30 days — Match2@Home
- Match2@Home is a one-time purchase with no recurring billing, so after the 30-day money-back window it is non-refundable.
- If you ever stop using it, your children keep playing on the free plan and their progress is never deleted.
Refunds paid by bank transfer
- Schools that paid by invoice / bank transfer are covered by the same 30-day money-back guarantee. Because the payment did not come from a card, we cannot reverse it automatically — email hello@match2.cards and we will arrange the transfer back with Paddle.
- Cancelling is not the same as asking for a refund. If you are within your 30 days and want your money back, email us — cancelling on its own stops your renewal but does not return the payment.
Cancelling vs. refunding (annual plans)
- Cancel: stop the next year's renewal and keep full access until the end of the year you have already paid for — no money changes hands.
- Refund: get money back now (per the terms above); paid access ends at that point.
Billing errors
Duplicate charges and clear billing errors are always refunded in full, at any time, regardless of the windows above.
How to request a refund
Email hello@match2.cards with the email address on your account (and, if you have it, your order/transaction reference). Refunds are issued to your original payment method by our payment processor, Paddle, which also reverses any tax charged. They typically take a few business days to appear.
Nothing in this policy affects any statutory rights you may have as a consumer. Where your local law gives you stronger cancellation or refund rights than those set out above, those rights continue to apply.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We provide the Service "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service

- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- You acknowledge that no educational platform can guarantee specific learning outcomes
10. Educational Disclaimer
While Match2.Cards is designed to support vocabulary and language learning, it is not a substitute for comprehensive instruction by qualified educators. Translations and spoken audio are provided for learning support and may not always reflect regional usage. Results may vary, and we cannot guarantee specific learning outcomes.
